BORDAR ALMAS - reflection
BORDAR ALMAS is the translation of "embroidering sowls" from Portuguese to English. This name was chosen with my grandmother's old embroidery in mind. Because the main goal of the project is to transform embroidery into something modern and current.
This project was really challenging. I was able to further explore my progression route, fashion communication and styling by working digitally, creating a pattern, understanding in what different ways we can do it and where we can use the patterns. There was another big challenge which was embroidery. I had already embroidered before but never like this and this was the part that failed a bit because the idea was to embroider the whole fabric but as I had no idea of how to do it I lost track of time. In the end it was fine. I realized that, as the scarf is often used folded in triangles, it didn't need any more "information". Sometimes, every cloud has a silver lining.
