Research - Pattern trends
SPRING / SUMMER 21 PATTERN TRENDS
Pattern trend have been changing throughout the years, however, there are some aspects that have stay in people's wardrobes. In this post, I will show you the pattern trends for this season and here you can see the similarities and differences between these patterns and patterns from previous seasons.
SPARK JOY
Swirling, prints, textural stripes , and vintage-inspired graphics from all make for a vibrant and happy spring wardrobe.
UNCOMPLICATED PALETTE
Tese patterns are about florals and it includes a large number of ethnic patterns, with monochromatic prints.
These patterns are defined as being colorful, with many tropical elements like plants, leaves and flowers. Pray often painted by hand and some even abstract.

Many artistic floral patterns, again, these patterns could be pictures on display. The tones are mostly pastel.
I think the term GEOS come from geometry, so it makes sense because these patterns are all made from geometric forms and shades. Again, a lot of pastel tones, stripes and zig zags.
TRAVEL NOTEBOOK
These patterns are all about nostalgic prints, with a mix of tropica, vintage and retro vibes. Also, it is very travel inspired.
This research was really helpful in a sense that I could understand in which pattern trend my pattern was. I found out that it is an uncomplicated palette pattern due to the soft colours, the fact that it is a floral pattern, and also it has a digital effect, it does not seem to be hand made.

There is some good background research, but don't forget we need to see how this research is impacting upon your project work and helping you to develop your project. You do discuss at the end of the post this issue to a certain extent, but it is important to state where this research will take you next.
