I found very usefull to add a fashion stylist research since my progression route is Fashion Communication and Styling.
ERIN WALSH
Erin Walsh is a fashion stylist based in New York. She is also a creative director and worked with everyone from Sarah Jessica Parker to Kerry Washington and Anne Hathaway. She worked for editorials, brands and strategist styling. For Erin, the biggest styling secret is to trying to look like yourself and not someone else. I really identify myself with this opinion, we can and should inspire ourselves in others and trends but not stop being ourselves just because something is trendy. We should always have something that represent ourselves when we dress up.
Erin Walsh is into mizting textures and various combinations and that is why she love fall. In my opinion, in fall or winter we have more oportunities to dress layers and that is the most interesting thing in styling, being able to combine various pieces of cloth and make everything make sense.
“I can't just come as a force of imposition to a person who is creative, who is going to be out there in the world displaying whatever we ended up deciding to do together, I always look at it as a collaboration and I think that makes it more fun.” (Walsh 2020)
Walsh has built long-term relationships in an industry where it’s typical for clients to rotate in and out. Year after year, for example, Walsh works with Sarah Jessica Parker on her Met Gala looks. (Year after year, SJP is on the best dressed list.)
“I've always been a fan of clothes and the art of it, but if I was ever going to make a career of it,” she says. “the storytelling component was a huge, huge part of that.” (Walsh 2020)
Here are some fashion editorials by Erin Walsh that I found more interesting:
