As discussed in the class last week, the idea using Robert Kaufman's patterning designs as a starting point has some scope for creating oriental inspired designs - have a look at Shushu/Tong here: https://www.shushutongstudio.com/collection/21ss/and the ways in which they use patterning in their designs, but aimed at a contemporary market and a specific demographic. There approach is more subversive and may be an interesting way of using the Kaufman inspiration in a more unusual way.
